Pleased to meet you I’m so sad

I was extremely alarmed when I noticed A Grave With No Name had recently played a free gig in my almost hometown of Bournemouth. For one it was annoying to miss it when I had in fact been thinking of coming back from Uni for the weekend but then there was also the fact that as they were over from America; it was an opportuinity that really shouldn’t have been missed.

Turns out A Grave With No Name aren’t actually American at all and just have a deceitful Myspace page aided by their Weezer lovin’ alt rock image. It sounds like someone has taken every cool single and album produced in 09/10 and channeled it all into one record. Not that this is any criticism of their ambition nor originality. A Grave With No Name find time to incorporate elements of Banjo or Freakout, No Age, Deerhunter, Animal Collective as well as finding time to squeeze in a bit of Pavement and other 90’s guitar driven indie. Their debut album - Mountain Debris is nothing less of what’d you expect from the ever excellent No Pain In Pop.
