Sorry for the lack of new music recently, had some pretty big job interviews which I expect I will definitely end up boasting about if they actually come through. The band who’s really caught my attention recently are The Blanche Hudson Weekend. Despite having a promo picture that couldn’t be more naff if it was a depicting a puddle of piss; their fuzzy, shoegaze pop songs were the perfect antidote to rainy train journeys to and from interviews.
If Spector produced girl groups or The Jesus and Mary Chain are your kind of thing then there’s absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t love The Blanche Hudson Weekend. Made up of ex-members of The Manhattan Love Suicides (a band I feel I should probably know) they are already confirmed for this years Indietracks festival and released their debut EP last Monday.
