Offset announce first wave of artists

In 2008 Offset festival had Gang of Four headlining, and I was all set to go but then found out it clashed with starting at university. 2009 saw Offset sporting the strongest line-up of the festival season and it seemed as though they’d almost picked artists straight from my last.fm, the only hurdle this time was friends dropping out on me. The first wave of this years acts was announced yesterday and looks to be the strongest so far.

The full list of bands playing announced so far can be viewed here, but particular names I’m excited for include Telepathe - who put out one of my favourite albums of 2009, Male Bonding - who look set to put out one of my albums of 2010 (listen here) and Factory Floor - a band we’ve liked at SBM since we wrote a really cringey piece back in 2008, that luckily seems to have dissapeared since the move to Tumblr. Coincidentally yesterday we made their new EP ‘release of the week’ before they were even announced to be playing.

Despite a bit of a lineup change since we last wrote about them things have remained largely the same. They still write haunting electronic post-punk but with a new focus on a more synth/drone orientated sound, and with this they’re sounding better than ever.
