That old saying ‘a picture speaks a thousand words’ is sometimes almost true. Salem make ghostly, dark electronic pop in the vein of Telepathe. They’re apparently massively influenced by dubstep (bit of a cop out thing to say these days) but definitely in a good way i.e not like these guys. They give me this strange feeling that if members of Velvet Underground were born in 1985 they’d probably form a band a bit like this. After featuring on Rough Trades latest ‘Counter Culture’ release and a number of sold out limited vinyl releases it’ll be exciting to see where Salem go next.
