This time last year support for Nathan Williams noise pop project - Wavves was rapidly dwindling. If it wasn’t onstage tantrums or sacking drummers it was broken arms and cancelled gigs - therefore if he was going to make any sort of comeback it was going to have to be pretty special. Luckily it appears to be exactly that.

As well as announcing the title and due date of his next album ‘King Of Beach’ (August 2nd), Williams also added ““There was a conscious effort going into this that I didn’t want to make the same record again. I already made the same record twice, with the same f*cking cover art.”

‘Cool Jumper’ combines Animal Collective loops/Real Estate riffs with some weird electronic hand claps and a refrain “I don’t ever wanna leave home” - which all in all make for an excellent track.
